Hello! Thanks for being here.
What is it you are hoping to learn about me? There are a number of things woven throughout the site, which you will stumble upon in my words and images. If you’re hoping for information about professional qualifications, see this page. If you are looking for more of my personal story, read on…
There I am, at a cafe table, working away on this website launch. The doodle in my planner says “Creation is the antidote to destruction.” That’s one of my favorite mantras, to give me hope any time the world feels difficult. I consider myself a creative and an “artivist.” Arts + activism = artivism. Here are a few other things about me, not apparent in the image above: I’m currently a graduate student in the field of Social Work. I chose a State University for my Masters. I hope to do a Ph.D., but don’t yet know where. My BA is from Smith College, in Critical Theory and English. Nearly all of my undergrad electives were in Studio Art, though I did not officially minor in it. I graduated Cum Laude.
In my life, I have worn (and still wear) many hats. I’ve been a polevaulter and competed in national Track and Field meets. I’ve been an herbalist and wellness consultant. I have taught archery at one summer camp, and Arts & Crafts at another. I have worked with young people and elders. I’m fluent in American Sign Language. I have taught poetry workshops to a range of people, and hosted numerous open microphone events for writers. These are just a few examples. Stick around and you’ll learn more. What ties together all of my work in the world: I am driven by a kind of ferocious love for our planet, and for beauty, and art… and an inclusive vision of what it can mean for humans to be in community!
